3 Easy Steps To Get Your Licence

Apply for your provisional licence
You can apply for a provisional driving licence online or at your local post office. To apply online, visit the GOV UK website. If you’d rather apply in person, you can fill out a D1 application form, available at the post office. Applying online is a quicker and cheaper option compared to sending your application by post. Online application costs £34, whereas postal applications cost £43. Please see the GOV website for more information. TO APPLY FOR YOUR UK PROVISIONAL DRIVING LICENCE, YOU NEED TO: Turn 17 within 3 months (but you need to wait until your birthday before you can drive on the road) Have a valid proof of identity i.e. passport, birth certificate You must live in the UK Provide all addresses where you’ve lived over the last three years Be able to read a new-style number plate from 20 metres or an old-style number plate from 20.5 metres Not be prevented from driving for any reason, such as any driving related offenses. Remember – you will need your new licence to arrive before driving and will have to give your Instructor a DVSA code which proves your entitlement to drive. For more details, click here:

Book Theory Test
The theory test is the first stage of becoming a fully licensed driver in the UK. It checks your knowledge and understanding of the Highway Code, road signs, driving laws, and safe driving practices. You must pass it before booking your practical driving test. Book theory test It has two parts, both taken on the same day at a test centre: 1. Multiple-choice questions • 50 questions from a bank of over 1,000. • Covers topics such as road signs, rules of the road, safety, vehicle handling, and road awareness. • You’ll need to score at least 43 out of 50 to pass. • Questions may include case studies (a short driving scenario with follow-up questions). 2. Hazard perception test • You watch 14 video clips of everyday driving scenes. • Each clip contains at least 1 developing hazard (something that may cause you to change speed or direction), and one clip has 2 hazards. • You must click when you see the hazard developing — the earlier you spot it, the more points you score. • Maximum score: 75 points. • Pass mark: 44 out of 75.
